About the Band

The Cocoons are a four piece rock band from Athens, Georgia that formed in April, 2025. Blending gritty emotion with melodic hooks, they craft songs that are equal parts raw and refined with lyrics that break your heart and vibes that make you want to dance. Their music is what you get when you oversaturate the world with meaningless things: the call for rebellion of the modern age.

Their Freshman Album, Robert Lord of the Time Epiphany, is scheduled to release October, 2025. Check out the short story inspired by their album here.

RED

Born in Baltimore, Maryland and growing up in the DC, MD, VA area, Red started his first band in high school, Moran Street, after having a senior season ending football injury. In college he transitioned from sad-boi piano crooner to alt-rock mosh maker. From there, he would front three more bands while cultivating his signature uptempo songwriting and melancholic lyricism. As the frontman for The Cocoons, he can’t wait to rock some socks off.

WES

As an Athens, Georgia native, Wesley grew up spending time outdoors, swimming, and playing classical piano and violin. After a brief stint on the drums in high school, he firmly gripped the sticks, co-founding fraternity tailgate band turned indie rock “basement recess” while attending Georgia Tech. After spending some time in Korea and Albuquerque, Wesley is back (in Athens), ready to take names and kick some ass.

BRANDON

Brandon picked up the sax at eight. By high school, he had formed a metal band, Leigh-Ann’s, played local venues, recorded a DIY EP, and immersed himself in the Atlanta music scene. He joined The Rose Colored Glasses in 2020 after auditioning during the pandemic. Since 2021, they’ve been writing, recording, and performing regularly around Atlanta. He joined The Cocoons in April, 2025, building momentum and reconnecting him to the creative drive that first inspired him.

DAVIS

After saving up lawn-mowing money, Davis bought an ESP LTD bass with pink strings and never looked back. Joining his first band in college, after only playing in church and his bedroom, Davis developed a funky and organic style that has held down the rhythm section of The Rose Colored Glasses, Edgewood Heavy, Basement Recess, Schlitz & Snap among others. Inspired by bands like The Allman Brothers Band and The Doors, he now holds down the rhythm section for The Cocoons.
